ZnS Window
Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) materials can be classified into two types: white multispectral ZnS that can pass visible light and yellow native ZnS which blocks visible light. ZnS is a chemically inert material with the characteristics of high purity, insoluble in water, moderate density and easy processing. ZnS grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has excellent fracture strength and hardness, which makes it a wide selection used in harsh environments.
Zinc Sulfide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula ZnS. It is a white or slightly yellow powder that becomes darker when exposed to light. It is stable in dry air. When placed in humid air or containing moisture for a long time, it gradually oxidizes to zinc sulfate.
Zinc Sulfide is a broadband transmission semiconductor material with high optical transmittance in multiple spectral bands such as near-infrared (1~3μm), mid-infrared (3~5μm), far-infrared (8~12μm). With moderate mechanical properties, thermal properties and chemical stability, they are an important class of optoelectronic functional materials. Multi-spectral band transmission ZnS bulk materials are widely used in fairings, infrared lenses, infrared windows and other fields.
